HELU-TRANS COLLECTORS SERIES: SOUTHEAST ASIA/CONTEMPORARY
at Artspace@Helutrans, Singapore, 7 – 15 December 2013
The Helu-Trans Collectors Series is a programme of exhibitions and talks built around private collections based at Helu-Trans in Singapore, providing collectors the opportunity to share important works from their collections with fellow collectors, curators, critics and the public. The series has been developed by RogueArt for Helu-Trans.
The first presentation, Southeast Asia/Contemporary, looks at four private collections with a focus on contemporary art from the Southeast Asian region. Curated by RogueArt, the exhibition includes 40 artworks by artists from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia, exploring themes and connections between the works, their artists and the ways in which they have been collected.
A panel discussion was held on Saturday 7 December. Invited panellists were Jim Amberson, Isabel & Alfredo Aquilizan, Ahmad Mashadi, Enin Supriyanto, Lourdes Samson, Howard Tam; the panel was moderated by RogueArt.
