about us
Founded in 2008, we are a partnership based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, focused on the creative, strategic and organisational management of art and cultural projects, exhibitions, collections and publications. Initiating projects, working collaboratively and through art consultancy, RogueArt is dedicated to building knowledge and conversations around, and helping to think towards more sustainable and equitable infrastructures for art practice, presentation and support in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
RogueArt’s directors are Rachel Ng and Beverly Yong.
what we do
A small outfit with a broad compass, we aim to work with our clients and collaborators to promote a greater engagement between art and the community, developing new audiences and a greater understanding of local and regional contemporary art and what it has to offer. We believe that existing cultural institutions, and the private and corporate sector have much to give, and to gain, in supporting contemporary cultural production. At the same time, we hope to explore alternative modes of presenting, thinking about and looking at art and culture in the regional context.
We initiate projects, seek collaborations and also offer a personalised, hands-on consultancy and project management service, developing and implementing strategic ideas tailored to clients’ specific needs and ambitions. We’re interested in helping to make spaces, programmes, exhibitions, publications and conversations, and in working with art practices, collections and systems, drawing on our long experience in the field, ground knowledge and network of regional contacts, including artists, curators, institutions, collectors and arts workers and services.
